Smith, L. (2010). It’s a book. New York, New
York: Roaring Brook Press. All Monkey wants to do is sit quietly and read his
book. He is not able to do so when Jackass keeps interrupting him asking him
what he has. It seems that Jackass does not know what a book is and keeps
comparing it to a laptop. Through several questions, Monkey continuously tells
Jackass he has a book. Smith uses simplistic lines with the illustrations in
the book. The characters are easily identifiable for young readers. This book
can be used for older readers in finding theme. This can also be used for older
readers to respond to the use of technology today and how print is being
overtaken by the digital age. The book trailer is attached to view. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4BK_2VULCU
